What is the TBI Waiver?
The TBI waiver allows individuals who have been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) to live at home and remain in the community while receiving services. As in all cases of this nature, individuals must qualify for Indiana Medicaid to be eligible for a TBI Waiver. CareStar Indiana case managers are certified to serve this waiver in the state of Indiana and authorize a variety of services to those on this waiver. 
 
How does this service work?
Traumatic Brain Injuries can be devastating to the person as well as his or her family. CareStar Indiana assists those in need by providing services and information as the person works towards recovery. After the person chooses a CareStar of Indiana, LLC case manager, his or her needs will be evaluated and arrangements for the appropriate services to be provided will  be implemented.

These services may include, but are not limited to:
   - Personal Care / Case Management,
   - Homemaker and independent living skills training
   - Environmental modifications
   - Respite care and adult companion services.
   - Adult Day Services / Attendant Care
   - Behavior Management/ Counseling / Physical Therapy
   - Environmental Modifications / Residential Habilitation
   - Health Care Coordination /Homemaker Services /Occupational Therapy
   - Personal Emergency Response System / Respite Care
   - Specialized Medical Equipment and Supplies
   - Speech/Hearing/Language Therapy
   - Supported Employment / Transportation
